DOMINATION IS ABOMINATION

Book -- Domination is Abomination: Man’s Oppression of WomanTABLE OF CONTENTS - FIRST WORDS - REFERENCES

The text, Domination is Abomination, takes a three-tiered approach that examines assaults upon the body, mind and spirit of the oppressed.  The book provides readers with the tools to identify and resist multiple forms of domination in their life and in society -- whether these are from romantic partners, family members, bosses, religions, cults, governmental authorities, or dysfunctional relationships.  For example, assault upon the spirit of women around the world has taken the form of the eradication of traces of goddess mythology and religion in numerous cultures.  As a result, the feminine principle of the divine has been suppressed, and what remains is primarily a single male god dominating over all.

Diana and her Nymphs Departing for the Hunt by Peter Paul Rubens, Flemish, 1615Chapter 1 will provide a brief herstory of the Women’s Rights Movement, including the work of philosopher Mary Wollstonecraft in the 1700’s, activist Susan B. Anthony in the 1800’s, and social theorist Bell Hooks in the 1900’s. The chapter offers 10 Main Arguments for women’s rights, including the notion that birth control is the key to women’s emancipation around the world; thus a vote against women’s access to safe birth control (of any kind) is a vote against women. The chapter also addresses global atrocities and global achievements in the cause of feminism.

Chapter 2 (on the body) will examine sexual trauma and recovery, and includes the work of Judith Herman, the leading authority on PTSD and Complex PTSD (CPTSD), and of Linda Williams, who studied recovered memories of victims of sexual assault. Chapter 2 will also examine prostitution and pornography using the work of Laura Lederer, Andrea Dworkin, and other outstanding feminists. The chapter offers 10 Main Arguments against porn, including evidence that it incites men to commit acts of sexual violence against women and children, and that it is catalyzing an epidemic rise of sexual addiction in men.

Chapter 3 (on the mind) will examine the continuum of mind control and brainwashing using the work of Robert Cialdini on principles of influence, Robert J. Lifton on brainwashing, and Margaret Thaler Singer on cults. The chapter offers valuable insight into covert forms of mind control -- including indirect directives, conversational hypnosis, and naturalistic trance induction -- as well as conditions that contribute to their effectiveness -- including sleep deprivation, hunger, and overwork. Lastly, the chapter provides a list of startling similarities in the methodologies of cult leaders and male abusers. The latter are examined using the work of Lundy Bancroft, an authority on “Angry and Controlling Men” (the subtitle of his text).

Chapter 4 (on the spirit) will examine the widespread destruction of Goddess Religions in (1) Europe, (2) Native America, and (3) Latin America using the works of (1) Riane Eisler, Merlin Stone, and Marija Gimbutas; (2) Native American Paula Gunn Allen; and (3) Chicana Gloria Anzaldua. In addition, the chapter will provide an introduction to Jungian Theory using the work of Jean Shinoda Bolen, who theorizes that Goddess Archetypes help to symbolize and energize behavioral patterns in women (and men). Lastly, the text will address modern-day forms of Goddess worship, Paganism and Neo-Paganism as an alternative to patriarchal religions.

Chapter 5 offers a summary of the main arguments in the text, as well as recommendations for further exploration of the issues.
